About the Show:
Artistic Director Terry Wilson offers A Quiet Place, a duet where two individuals develop self acceptance while standing beside each other, holding space to make the relationship complete. Showcasing guest artist Rande Dorn of Los Angeles, 3 Love Letters Never Sent is a study on relationships over one year, from beginning to end. New Years, Birthdays, and the December holidays. Joining us again this season is Kim Epifano of San Francisco who boldly debuted Who You Are, Where You Are in this fall’s Trolley Dances. Kim shares “I was so excited Terry Wilson wanted me to come do a site for Trolley Dances 25th Anniversary! Working with SDDT was a joyful experience." Also highlighted on the program is Jean Isaacs’ Partita for Seven Dancers, with music created by Caroline Shaw, for which Shaw won the Pulitzer Prize in 2013. Partita is a highly-polished and inventive a cappella work uniquely embracing speech, whispers, sighs, murmurs, wordless melodies, and novel vocal effects.
